John DeSimone Senior Infrastructure Engineer / Physical Security Pinnacle West / Arizona Public Service John DeSimone is the Senior Infrastructure Engineer responsible for Physical Security Engineering at Arizona Public Service. John is responsible for the design and engineering of physical security construction / Infrastructure projects within the corporate enterprise. John is involved in all aspects of each physical security project from “cradle to the grave” working with project managers; engineers from all trades; stakeholders; technology and integration vendors; maintenance groups and management. John assures that expectations and final results match by building relationships and developing a shared understanding of the project at hand. John has been the responsible engineer for 100+ projects in his tenure accounting for the installation of 1500+ cameras; tens of miles of perimeter electronics (video analytics and sensor technology); and 2000+ access control points. Whilst adding thousands of inputs to be monitored by the company Security Operations Center, John has worked with APS’ Corporate Security Department to reduce False Alarming by 75%. John has worked for Arizona Public Service since 2011. Prior to working at APS, John has held roles of Engineer, Project Manager and Director. John is a member of the WECC (Western Electricity Coordinating Council) Physical Security Workgroup. John holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Hofstra University and a Master of Science in Information Management from WP Carey at Arizona State University.
